Örebro

Under flera år har jag burit på en idé och en längtan – att fotografera och skapa ett tidsdokument i och omkring Örebro län, en plats som alltid känts mest som hemma, oavsett var i världen jag har befunnit mig. Skolskjutningen på min gamla gymnasieskola Risbergska den 4 februari har skapat ett tydligt före och efter för oss alla och det kändes mer angeläget än någonsin att påbörja detta projekt.

Mot denna bakgrund tar mitt projekt form utifrån en personlig skildring snarare än en objektiv dokumentation av staden. Det är ett försök att förstå en plats i förändring, där det förflutna och nuet kolliderar, och där människor från olika kulturer försöker navigera sina liv. Serien försöker fånga möten och ögonblick i staden genom de människor som bor här – deras djupt personliga historier, uttryck och närvaro i de urbana miljön och i naturen. Teman som förlust och förnyelse präglar arbetet, vilket speglar inte bara förvandlingen av min hemstad utan också en större reflektion över det samtida Sverige.
